Last month, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Holly & Co "Congregation of Inspiration" event, and what a day it was!
Over 300 passionate small business owners gathered to soak in wisdom, share stories, and ignite our collective spirit of entrepreneurship.
From the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be special. The atmosphere was electric with creativity and camaraderie. Holly Tucker herself kicked off the day with heartfelt words, setting the stage for an inspiring line-up of speakers. We heard from three remarkable individuals who shared their journeys, struggles, and triumphs in the world of business and the gorgeous poet Donna Ashworth also delivered a beautiful speech.
Reflections on running a business and community
Holly moved us with her candid reflections on the challenges her business has faced – from securing funding to navigating payroll. Her honesty resonated so deeply with everyone in the room, emphasising the importance of community support in overcoming these hurdles. Holly’s belief in collective success was so powerful as she articulated her vision for a collaborative future.
One of the most poignant moments of the event for me came during the open mic session, where fellow Co’s bravely shared their personal stories. I was moved by a speech from a Co who, along with his husband, crafts ceramic straws. Earlier this year, his husband tragically lost his sight. His touching tribute to Holly & Co's unwavering support underscored the profound impact of community and hope 🤎
We are all in this together, supporting each other is everything
Throughout the day, it became clear that Holly has cultivated more than just a network – she has nurtured a family of like-minded individuals dedicated to uplifting each other. Many of her Co’s have known Holly since the early days of Not on the High Street, witnessing first hand her commitment to fostering a supportive ecosystem for small businesses.
My thoughts
As I reflect on my experience at the event, I am so thankful for the connections I made, the stories shared, and the renewed sense of purpose it has ignited within me. This event was not just about business; it was about humanity, resilience, and the power of community.
It reminded me why Buns of Joy exists – to bring joy and thoughtfulness to women during their busiest, most chaotic moments. We are so fortunate to be part of a network that champions small businesses, and I’m grateful for the inspiration and guidance that helps us continue to grow.
Just like the amazing businesses I met at the event, we want to keep evolving and learning, staying focused on delivering thoughtful gifting that brings a little bit of joy wherever it’s needed, nationwide.
Our journey has only just begun, and with communities like Holly & Co, we’re more excited than ever to continue sharing the warmth of Buns of Joy.
Thank you, Holly & Co, for a day that will forever resonate in my Cinnamon Bun entrepreneurial journey!
